Rural Health Projects, Inc./NwAHEC
OUR MISSON:
To improve access to and quality of healthcare services for rural Oklahomans through collaboration, advocacy, education, recruitment, and training.
OUR VISION:
Giving voice and vision to rural health.
Rural Health Projects is a community based non-profit funded by multiple grants and contracts. We connect and collaborate with our diverse communities to provide education and resources aimed at improving population health.
Rural Health Projects, Inc. was established in 1989. In 1992, it became a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit corporation. Originally established as an Area Health Education Center (AHEC), RHP has successfully implemented a variety of activities that improve the health of the rural citizens who reside in Northwest Oklahoma.
Although the RHP activities have changed over the years, the devotion to the mission remains constant. The RHP Board of Directors and staff strive to accomplish the mission by:
Performing functions of our grants and contracts with quality services; Seeking other grants and contracts from private and public funding sources; Networking among the service agencies of NW Oklahoma; Advocating for rural Oklahomans and health policy with governing agencies, and providing health education in a variety of ways to rural Oklahomans.
